Stroke support in Hull
Personal support for life after a stroke.
Spark Rehab provides calm, one-to-one supported exercise for people in Hull who want extra help with movement, strength and confidence after clinical rehabilitation.
Support built around the person
Every stroke is different. Sessions begin with the person’s current abilities, medical guidance and the everyday activities that matter most to them.
The aim is not to promise a particular outcome. It is to provide patient, practical support and achievable progression.
Working alongside your stroke team
Spark Rehab is not physiotherapy or medical treatment. Exercise is subject to suitability and appropriate medical clearance, and it should complement the advice already provided by the person’s GP, physiotherapist or stroke team.
Planned home visits in Hull
Spark Rehab is preparing to offer one-to-one support in your own home, once formal certification and suitable home-visit insurance are confirmed. Travel within Hull is included in the stated prices; visits outside Hull are discussed and priced beforehand.
Your first movement and goals visit
The first visit costs £65 and lasts up to 75 minutes, including conversation and rest. Keith reviews the information you have provided, listens to your goals and considers the space and support available. Suitable movement tasks help establish a starting point. Together, you agree whether ongoing sessions are appropriate and what to work towards.
The visit is paced around you. There is no expectation to exercise continuously or complete a set amount of activity.
Before the visit
Keith will provide a short pre-assessment questionnaire and the relevant terms and consent information. Have your current medication list and any exercise guidance from your healthcare team available. Choose comfortable clothes and footwear, and discuss any access or communication needs in advance.
Keith will discuss space and equipment with you beforehand. Please do not buy equipment for a first visit without discussing it with him.
Family, communication and fatigue
A family member or carer is welcome to stay if you would like them there. You can make the initial enquiry by text or email, and let Keith know how you prefer to communicate.
Sessions allow time for rest. Activities and pace can be adjusted around fatigue and how you feel on the day; new health concerns may mean pausing and seeking advice from your healthcare team.
Ongoing sessions and costs
A one-to-one session is £55 for 60 minutes. The £300 programme covers six ongoing 60-minute sessions (£50 each); the initial £65 movement and goals session is separate. Written booking and cancellation terms are supplied before payment.
Checking suitability together
Keith considers your current abilities, health guidance, goals and available support before offering sessions. He may need further information or appropriate medical clearance. If your needs fall outside his training or insurance, he will explain this and encourage you to contact the relevant clinical service.
Important: Spark Rehab works alongside medical and rehabilitation teams. It does not replace medical care, physiotherapy or emergency services. Call 999 for new or suspected stroke symptoms.
